Introduction
The educational material aims to complement the information provided during the "Diabetes Empowerment Education Program" (DEEP ™) classes. DEEP is an educational program aimed at Hispanic/Latino, African American and other racial minorities with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
The manual follows the contents of the DEEP™ program including hand-outs and information from its 8 modules, such as: types of diabetes, symptoms of hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia, complications, medications, healthy eating, physical activity, among other others.
