Authorized Uses of DEEP™ Materials
• DEEP™ is the property of the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). Every organization that wishes to provide DEEP™ training and/or programming to its participants must be licensed by UIC.
• UIC grants to the licensed organizations to make as many copies of the electronically provided DEEP™ materials as needed, in either electronic or hardcopy form, and to distribute the materials and copies to the Senior Trainer(s), Lead Trainer(s), and Peer Educator(s).
• UIC allows each Senior Trainer, Lead Trainer, and Peer Educator to make as many copies of the DEEP™ materials as reasonably needed, and to distribute these materials and copies to training of workshop participants.
• Each Senior Trainer, Lead Trainer, and Peer Educator can make copies of DEEP™ materials for their own, internal, non-commercial, educational and research purposes related to DEEP™ and the training of participants.
• UIC grants to licensed organizations permission to use the DEEP trademark and service mark rights in connection with DEEP™, and to promote DEEP™ to the public.
• Each copy of the DEEP™ materials copied, must contain the following: “DEEP™ was developed at the University of Illinois Chicago by the Midwest Latino Health Research, Training and Policy Center.”
• Organizations must also include in all DEEP™ materials the following copyright notice: “©The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois 2017. All rights reserved. Permission to use these materials may be obtained from the University of Illinois.”
• Licensed organizations, Senior Trainers, Lead Trainers, and Peer Educators may not commercially exploit the DEEP™ materials, or any material derived from or based upon the DEEP™ materials.
• Organizations will have access to revised DEEP TM materials from UIC, including revisions as they become available.
• Senior Trainers, Lead Trainers, and Peer Educators may reproduce copies of the DEEP TM program materials for use in their DEEP TM workshops; however, UIC retains ownership of the copyright to the DEEP TM program, and the Sr. Trainers, Lead Trainers, and Peer Educators agree that all copies of the program materials contain the appropriate copyright.
• Senior Trainers and Lead Trainers may not provide anyone with copies of any manuals for reproduction. Organizations working under contract with a licensed organization who has not purchased a license may not claim ownership of DEEP™ curriculum, materials, or manuals, and may not reproduce them. UIC provides the DEEP TM curriculum and materials to organizations once they have purchased a DEEP™ license.
A. Senior Trainers, Lead Trainers, and Peer Educators agree not to use the any name, logo or insignia of The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois without the express written consent of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
